Dermal Fillers in Nottingham — Volume, Definition and Natural-Looking Results
Dermal Fillers Nottingham | Signature Aesthetics
Volume loss is one of those changes that happens so gradually you almost don't notice it until one day you look in the mirror and something feels different. The cheeks that used to sit higher. The jawline that's lost some of its definition. The lips that have thinned slightly over the years. None of these changes are dramatic in isolation but together they can shift the overall appearance of the face in a way that leaves people feeling like they don't quite recognise themselves.
Dermal fillers are one of the most versatile tools I work with at Signature Aesthetics, and when used well they're also one of the most rewarding. The right amount of product in the right place can restore a natural youthfulness to the face without anyone being able to pinpoint exactly what's changed — which is precisely the outcome most of my clients are looking for.
I'm Lyndsey, and I've been helping clients across Nottingham achieve natural, considered filler results for years. My approach is always conservative and always tailored — I'd rather add a little and review than overdo it and leave a client feeling self-conscious about their appearance.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that use hyaluronic acid — a substance that occurs naturally in the body — to add volume, restore structure, and soften lines in specific areas of the face. Hyaluronic acid attracts and retains moisture, which means fillers not only add physical volume but also improve the quality and hydration of the skin in the treated area.
Because hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring, it's well tolerated by the body and — importantly — reversible. If a result isn't what a client hoped for, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. That reversibility is something I consider genuinely important, and it's one of the reasons I only use hyaluronic acid based products at Signature Aesthetics.

My Approach to Dermal Fillers
There's a version of filler treatment that gets talked about a lot — overfilled lips, pillow cheeks, faces that have lost their natural proportions. It's not something I've ever aspired to and it's not something my clients come to me for. The standard I hold myself to is simple: a result should look like the best version of you, not like someone who's had work done.
Every filler treatment at Signature Aesthetics begins with a thorough consultation. I assess your facial anatomy, discuss what's changed over time or what you'd like to enhance, and give you an honest view of what's achievable and what isn't. I use a conservative approach — particularly with new clients — and I always recommend a review appointment to assess how you've responded before considering whether any additional product is needed.
I also think it's important to look at the face as a whole rather than treating areas in complete isolation. Volume loss and structural changes affect facial balance, and the most natural results come from understanding how different areas relate to one another rather than simply filling lines wherever they appear.

Is Filler Safe?
Dermal fillers are safe when administered by an experienced, qualified practitioner using appropriate products and techniques. As with any injectable treatment, there are risks — and I think it's important to be honest about that rather than glossing over it. Complications are rare but they do exist, which is why practitioner experience, product quality, and thorough pre-treatment assessment all matter enormously.
I only use premium hyaluronic acid products from reputable manufacturers, I carry hyaluronidase at every appointment for emergency dissolution if ever needed, and I stay current with my training and safety protocols. If I have any concerns about treating a client safely, I will always say so.
Who Is Suitable for Dermal Fillers?
Most healthy adults are suitable candidates for dermal filler treatment, though there are certain medical conditions and medications that affect suitability. I cover this thoroughly during every consultation. I don't treat clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and I always take time to understand each client's full medical history before recommending any treatment.
If you're unsure whether you're a suitable candidate, the best thing to do is get in touch — I'm always happy to have a conversation before a formal consultation is even booked.
Serving Clients Across Nottingham
I work with clients from right across Nottingham and the wider area — from Beeston and Long Eaton in the south west to Gedling and Carlton in the east, and from Hucknall in the north down through the city centre. If you're considering dermal filler treatment and you'd like to discuss your options with a practitioner who'll give you an honest, considered recommendation, I'd love to hear from you.
Dermal Fillers FAQs
How long do dermal fillers last?
It depends on the treatment area and the individual. Lip fillers typically last six to twelve months. Fillers placed in less mobile areas such as the cheeks or jawline can last anywhere from twelve to eighteen months or occasionally longer. Factors including metabolism, lifestyle, and the amount of product used all play a role. I'll give you a realistic expectation for your specific treatment during your consultation.
Do dermal fillers hurt?
Most clients find filler treatment uncomfortable rather than painful. The lip area tends to be the most sensitive — I use topical numbing cream for lip treatments to keep clients as comfortable as possible. Other areas such as the cheeks and jawline tend to be more tolerable. Many of the products I use also contain a small amount of local anaesthetic within the filler itself, which helps further.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved?
Yes - hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This can be done if a client is unhappy with their result, if filler has migrated over time, or in the rare event of a complication. Dissolution is straightforward in most cases though it can take more than one session for larger amounts of filler. I carry hyaluronidase at every appointment.
How much filler will I need?
This varies significantly between individuals and treatment areas. Rather than giving a fixed figure, I assess each client individually during consultation and give a clear recommendation based on your anatomy, your goals, and what I think will give the most natural result. I always start conservatively — it's easier to add than to take away.
What is the difference between anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers?
Anti-wrinkle injections use botulinum toxin to relax muscles and reduce the appearance of expression lines. Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid to add volume, restore structure, and soften deeper lines that aren't caused by muscle movement. They work in fundamentally different ways and address different concerns — though they're often used alongside one another for a more complete result.
Will my face look different straight after treatment?
There will typically be some swelling and occasionally minor bruising immediately after filler treatment, particularly in the lip area. This settles within a few days in most cases — two weeks is the point at which results can be properly assessed. I always recommend clients don't make judgements about their result in the first few days while initial swelling is present.
Is there anything I should avoid before my filler appointment?
I'd recommend avoiding alcohol, blood-thinning medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin where possible, and high-intensity exercise for 24 hours before treatment. These can increase the likelihood of bruising. I'll go through specific pre-treatment guidance during your consultation based on the areas being treated.
Do you offer a consultation before treatment?
Always — without exception. I never carry out filler treatment without a prior consultation. This is non-negotiable for me, not just a formality. It's how I ensure I'm recommending the right treatment for the right person, that you're a suitable candidate, and that your expectations are realistic and aligned with what I can achieve.
